Dear Colleagues
We are delighted to inform about an international scientific conference Unification-Integration-Convergence. Mutual interaction between contemporary systems and branches of law held on 18 and 19 October 2016 in Częstochowa, Poland, as a part of the 1 st Central European Forum on Law and Administration, organized by academics of the Institute of Administration, Jan Długosz University, Częstochowa, and academics of the Department of the Theory and Philosophy of Law, University of Opole.
The Conference’s main objective will be to present and discuss issues regarding mutual interaction and penetration of legal systems and their particular parts in modern European states.
Having considered the multitude of issues dealt with by administrative law scholars and theory and philosophy of law scholars, the Organizing Committee have chosen three main research areas to be discussed at the Conference.
The Committee suggests the following areas:
- addressed to theory and philosophy of law scholars, political scientists, and sociologists: e.g. philosophical and social justification for globalisation, European integration, convergence, and unification of legal cultures in Europe; postcolonial theories explaining the influence of some legal systems on others, based on center-periphery relationship.
- addressed to European and international law scholars, scholars specialized in comparative studies, and practitioners: e.g. mutual penetration and interaction, and transfers of legal institutions from different legal systems; influence of European and international law on domestic legal systems; issues related to legal transplants.
- addressed to public law (in its wide sense) scholars, private law scholars, practitioners, and representatives of public institutions: attention will be drawn to the interaction between particular branches of law within one legal system, e.g. public law privatisation and private law publicization, transfers of methods, legal tools and institutions between particular branches of law, establishment of institutions blending features characteristic of different branches of law.
